What is it about?

We've known for a while that physical activity is a great way to make you feel better, but is it better to do high or low intensity activities? In this study we looked at the physical activity behaviour of high school students, and compared it to their feelings of well-being. We found that vigorous physical activity was better for student's well-being than moderate or low-intensity.

Why is it important?

Our findings show that we can help students with the stress of high school by encouraging them to participate in higher-intensity physical activity. We can use these findings to help us develop interventions, or to set school policy around physical activity.
