What is it about?

There are 90 species of snakes in the genus Oligodon. many of them are quite rare. So itwas quite difficult to get genetical material of many of them. Thus the relationship of many species is unknown. Also there might be several new, unnamed species in this genus We contributed to the solution of this problem

Why is it important?

This genus contributs a lot to the biodiversity of snakes. It is important to know the species and their distribution to establish protection areas with high biodiversity not only of snakes

Perspectives

Further research will concentrate on unknown species in this genus.
