What is it about?
We locate earthquakes more accurately using a combination of methods. Recordings from seismometers around the region revealed their geographic location sand waves bounced from the sea surface revealed their depths. The final results revealed how a swarm of earthquakes occurred over the whole rift valley floor of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.

Why is it important?
In future, such methods in combination may help to reveal how the rift valleys are mechanically deforming during earthquakes.
