What is it about?
Herein, we developed a novel, enzyme-free electrochemical biosensor that can directly quantify creatinine within complex biological fluids in a highly specific and sensitive manner. This user-friendly and cost-effective device can provide reliable information on creatinine levels using a urine sample.

Why is it important?
We introduced for the first -time a novel approach to eliminate non-specific signals by using an ionic membrane (termed pseudo proton exchange membrane) which can repel the interferents from reaching the electrode surface. We also verified the accuracy developed sensor with clinically obtained results
