What is it about?
We are currently investigating the thermodynamics of the Nb - Ni - Si system, which is important for the design of advanced superalloys (among other uses), we decided therefore to perform new experiments, since the only experimental data available was obtained in the 1960s. It utrns out that we discovered that these experiments, most probably, were not obtained in equilibrium conditions, and this is the subject of this letter. The work is currently going on as part of Mr. Oliveira's PhD at the Escola Politecnica.

Why is it important?
Reliable experimental data are important for the development of models and simulations. The checking of this reliability is, therefore, primordial.
