Here, we tested whether escape distance of birds differed (animal behaviour sphere) between parks and cemeteries, which are characterized by different human behaviour (anthroposphere) .

Why is it important?

Our findings demonstrate that the escape behaviour of urban birds is linked to the characteristics of human activities. Our findings bring new insight on how wildlife is able to adapt their escape behaviour in different urban areas, suggesting that escape behaviour is linked to the characteristics of human–bird interactions.
