What is it about?
We used a special technique to create small emulsion droplets made of chitosan and magnetite nanoparticles, which are materials that can attract dyes from wastewater. These emulsion droplets were then turned into a gel microparticles. The resulting microparticles could remove a high percentage of dyes from water and also responded quickly to magnets. The microparticles were particularly effective in removing different types of dyes, and they could be reused multiple times without losing their effectiveness. Overall, these chitosan-magnetite microparticles show great potential for environmentally friendly wastewater treatment.
