What is it about?
The Canadian helpline for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease helps individuals living with COPD better manage their disease by providing information and education regarding COPD, providing guidance on signs and symptoms as well as changes in these symptoms, resources, services as well as caring support and reassurance to people with COPD and their families. The goal of this study was to develop and validate a protocol for the COPD helpline.

This paper describes the first helpline protocol developed for the COPD helpline. This protocol was developed by the implementation of theoretical frameworks as well as the input of experts in COPD, telehealth, and individuals living with COPD.
