What is it about?

Enterprises use repositories of Business Processes to standardize and adapt their operations to reuse them for new functional requirements. However, a disorganized growth of these repositories has hampered the search for Business Processes which is fundamental for reusing them. In this paper an approach for organizing and searching Business Processes is proposed, which is composed of two phases: First, an automatic and semantic categorization phase to classify Business Processes based on their functionality, and second a multimodal search phase to rank Business Processes based on structural and textual features.

Why is it important?

This paper proposes a new method for searching Business Processes using a semantic categorization technique to classify them, and a multimodal search phase to rank Business Processes.

Perspectives

we are planning to extend our approach to classify not only BP but Web Services taking into account their interfaces (input/outputs) and description. It may be useful to create categorized WS repositories according to different classification schemes.
