What is it about?
A methodology is proposed and tested experimentally to improve the performance of active vibration control of plate-type structures using a network of piezoelectric sensors bonded to the plate and connected to a spatial modal filter. It is shown that the use of a network of sensors together with a modal filtering strategy allows to effectively control selected vibration modes with quite simple signal processing requirements.
