What is it about?
This work aimed to understand whether congeneric species share a common physiological response to leaf movement restriction according to water availability.

Why is it important?
It is important because it was demonstrated that the response to leaf movement restriction depends on the species and the amount of water available. This is quite important considering that, in general, the role of leaf paraheliotropisms have been considered as invariant in species response to stress factor. Moreover, we demonstrated that leaf movements are important also under well-watered conditions, which response has been often overlooked in the literature.
