What is it about?
We use hydrographic measurements together with ship profilers (ADCP and LADCP) obtained in October 2014 to describe water masses, geostrophic circulation and mass transport of the Canary Current System.

Why is it important?
Fall 2014 provides the first evidence, from in situ observations, of a recirculation of the Canary Current through the Lanzarote Passage and of an Intermediate Poleward Under- current that flows northward at intermediate layers extending to the west of Lanzarote Island.
