What is it about?
Study of causative uropathogens and antimicrobial resistanceof community and hospital-acquired UTIs in Turkey.

Why is it important?
High resistance to ampicillin, cefuroxime and SXT; low resistance to nitrofurantoin, TZP, imipenem, meropenem, amikacin and CSL. • Resistance rates were generally higher in inpatients compared with outpatients. • Most appropriate empirical antibiotics for outpatient UTIs in our region are oral nitrofurantoin and parenteral amikacin.
