What is it about?
This article sheds light on the black box of GI registration processes in rural GI production areas in Japan. Considering both the ex-ante and ex-post of GI registration, this study provides empirical insights into the GI registration processes by highlighting the associated efforts of GI applicants, the expectations before GI registration, and the effects of registration.
