What is it about?
The research is about investigating the stability problem (linear buckling) of plates subjected to a compression load over only part of its side. It uses the finite element method to model and investigate the problem.

Why is it important?
This research is important to anyone interested in understanding the stability behaviour of planes subjected to in-plane partial compressive loading. The model developed using the finite element method could be used to analyse other types of plates (geometries) and with different loading arrangements.
