What is it about?
We have created a mouse model of chronic interferon-gamma expression by replacing the AU rich element in the 3' untranslated region of the gene with random nucleotides. This has result in low but chronic expression of interferon-gamma

Why is it important?
Interferon-gamma is a critical gene that impacts both innate and adaptive immunity. However chronic interferon-gamma is a sign of inflammation and this model will allow us to better understand the long term consequences of interferon-gamma expression. This paper describes our initial observations in C57 BL/6 mice where we see a lupus-like condition.
