This paper describes a lab study devoted to test the combined effect of self-efficacy, incentive value (outcome importance), and anxiety, on changes in cardiovascular system that appear while a person is performing a stressful task.

This experiment shows the complexity of the psychological processes (cognitive and emotional) that contribute to regulate the intensity of changes in biological systems as the cardiovascular system, which constitute one of the components of the stress response
