We investigate through an international survey how firms follow up their sustainability strategy and which results they get, with a specific focus on the extent of collaboration with suppliers as well as competences and skills of the purchasing department.

Why is it important?
In order to achieve sustainability, it's important to merge two perspectives: how firms manage business-to-business relationships with external partners and how they manage internal relationships among departments. Purchasing in particular has a pivotal role, being often the interface between the firm and its supply base. We empirically investigate this matter on an international sample of firms.
