What is it about?
Computing the number of subjects needed in a research study is important but the current practice for nursing research is still unknown. We evaluated randomized controlled trials published in nursing journals to get an idea about the current situation.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that only 22% randomized controlled trial provided all the necessary parameters for computing the number of subjects needed and some studies were underpower to answer the research questions.
