What is it about?

Edaravon is a putative neuro-protective medicine used for stroke and was recommended for traumatic brain contusion. This article presents the experience of use of this medication and its adverse effects.

Why is it important?

It is important to note that the experience of the use of this drug among a subgroup of patient with ALD was not favourable. In addition the medication did not appear to improve the outcome of patients in the absence of adverse effect.

Perspectives

There doesn't appear to be sufficient evidence till further studies are available for the use of edaravon in patients with neuro-trauma.
