Why is it important?
Shi drum is a newly cultivated species and fish farmers feed them aquafeed designed for commonly cultivated species such as Gilthead seabream. However, the requirements of this species are not known and may differ strongly from this sparidae. Nutritional requirements need to be determine to provide optimum fish growth and fish health so that adequate feed can be formulated for this fish species.
