What is it about?
This paper show that there is a huge improvement of HDPE whan adding clay. Not in the stress - strain behaviour normally reported - but in cyclic loading.

Why is it important?
It is important to understand that a nanocomposite is different from a traditional composite. The nanofiller will restrain mobility on chain level and this will effect creep, viscosity and cyclic loading much more than youongs modulus or tensile strength. And it is important to be able to model the response.
Perspectives
HDPE is probably the most used plastic. A better understanding of how we can modify an enhance and model properties are therefor very important
