What is it about?
This paper demonstrates that polarized X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) spectra, where the resolution is not restricted by core-hole-lifetime widths, can be obtained by using Kα resonant inelastic X-ray scattering from single crystals combined with polarized X-rays. Lifetime-broadening-suppressed polarized Cu K-XANES on an electron doped high-Tc family, Nd2−xCexCuO4 (x=0, 0.15), is reported to examine Ce doping effects.
