What is it about?
Microwave treatment tremendously increased the surface area of spent tea leaves (STL). Microwave-assisted spent black tea leaves (MASTL) was used as an effective low-cost green adsorbent. Excellent recoveries of EBT were obtained with small amount of MASTL. The adsorption mechanism was physicochemical in nature. The adsorption process was endothermic, spontaneous and random at solid/solution interface.
