The seawater carbonate system was investigated near the Yalu River estuary, and we found that CaCO3 corrosive waters occurred in this Chinese coastal zone.

Why is it important?
Both respiration and dilution contributed to the low CaCO3 saturation state, and the combined effects of the two contributors were quantitatively analyzed for the first time.
