We study online commenting in Israel and the USA. We code the comments for Irony in them and compare the results.

Why is it important?
Online commenting is a new arena for public participation and bring in the voice of the people in a new way. Irony is a major linguistic tool. We also provide a coding method for online comments and irony.
Perspectives
We use mainly Pragmatics.
