Why is it important?

The importance of this site lies in its location in the Strait of Gibraltar in an area where the southern coast of the Iberian Peninsula is visually perceived. All this leads to a debate about possible contacts between the south-east of Europe and North Africa at various stages of prehistory. In this case during the Middle Paleolithic.

Perspectives

The similarities that are perceived from the artifacts found in this site are reminiscent of those from southern Iberia. Contacts between prehistoric groups at both sides of the Gibraltar Strait could have been possible. We are working with that perspective on both sides of the Strait.
