What is it about?

This is a concise literature review on what recent research discovered on the psychology of anti-immigrant sentiments in four regions around the world. Research finings are framed within the unique geopolitical and historical contexts of these four regions.

Why is it important?

The body of literature on ani-immigration has grown exponentially since the 2015 European migrant crisis. This review aims to identify generalizable trends and recurring research themes while simultaneously acknowledging the distinctive characteristics of each region. Examples include the deeper roots of multiculturalism in Canada and Australia (as opposed to the US and many European countries), as well as migration policies.

Perspectives

A systematic approach is take to analyze the literature search results from PsycINFO. The quick pace of the article makes it a perfect read for graduate students or professionals who want to catch up on the recent psychological research on anti-immigration.
