What is it about?
We prepared carbon nanotubes decorated of filled with iron oxide nanoparticles to make them magnetically recoverable. Using xanthate chemistry, we then grafted a typical C-C coupling homogeneous catalyst consisting of Pd(II) centers. Therefore, the organometallic catalyst becomes supported on a solid and can be recycled by the simple use of a magnet.

Why is it important?
Organometallic catalysts are typically very active and selective but very difficult to recover. Here we propose a simple strategy to obtain single-site active catalysts grafted on a magnetic support. Hence the molecular catalyst can be isolated with a simple magnet and reused.
