What is it about?
a unique mesoporous MgO was prepared by a homogeneous-hydrothermal method. •The mesoporous MgO possesses high specific area and rich basic sites. •The conversion of acetone to isophorone was realized at low temperatures. ----by Dr.Peng Wencai

Why is it important?
Developing an active and selective heterogeneous catalyst is the key to acetone condensation process. Mesoporous MgO with crystalline phase framework wall, high specific area and a large amount of surface basic sites is prepared through a simple hydrothermal homogeneous precipitation route using urea as precipitating reagent. It can catalyze acetone condensation to MO and IP at low temperatures. ----by Dr.Peng Wencai
