What is it about?

Thin films being composed of helical fibrils vertically aligned on the chiral nematic under magnetic field were synthesized. The lengths of fibrils were in the range of 5 to 20 μm.

Why is it important?

Magnetic field is able to use for the synthsis of polyacetylene films in which helical fibrils were aligned vertically on the sudstrate.

Perspectives

It is expected that a film being composed of vertically aligned helical polyacetylene fibrils has peculiar electric and magnetic properties.
