What is it about?
Microalgae can be used to treat wastewater and for carbon capture in a lot of plants. Byproducts and wastes in exit from bio-refineries are a perfect feed for algae nurturing. Tubular and pneumatic airlift reactors are the best option at larger production scales. Their operation can be complex if they are inserted in plants where multiple bio-fuels are produced. In this work we propose some methodologies for finding the operating conditions of a battery of airlift reactors.

Why is it important?
A lot of research has been carried out on microalgae cultivation. Results are often at lab-scale. In this work both scale-up and operating design is shown for promising photo-bioreactors. In this work we analyze different operating conditions to increase the production yield.
