What is it about?

Why is it important?

Tens of thousands of westerners work as foreigners in the tropics and they are increasingly being joined by Chinese and other non-western foreigners.

Perspectives

I wrote the bit on working in China, which is very different from the other examples given, but I have previously worked in many different tropical countries and shared the experiences of other contributors.
