What is it about?

Menopause can lead to heightened anxiety and depression-like symptoms in women. The flavonoid chrysin has been shown to diminish these effects. We show that these effects of chrysin are related to the neurotransmitter GABA, which has been shown to respond to sex steroids (such as progesterone and estrogen) and to be associated with anxiety.
