Why is it important?
This is the first study that used quantum dots conjugated to transferrin to study the internalization dynamics and quantities of the transferrin receptors in two glioblastoma cells lines. U87 and DBTRG cells were compared between them and HeLa cells. We observed different quantities of transferrin receptors in these cells, DBTRG expressed more quantities of this receptors, while U87 expressed a lower amount.
