What is it about?
All the significant events in autumn 2012 were simulated using the MesoNH model configured with horizontal resolution of 2.5km and 0.5km. Also, the high-resolution simulations of heavy precipitation events were used to verify that increasing horizontal resolution in zones of complex orography, improve the simulation of the spatial distribution and total precipitation.

Why is it important?
The results confirmed the orographic effect in the accumulated precipitation. The most interesting result found was the occurrence of maximums values in different regions over the island. For example, over the highlands in the central peaks and southern/northern slopes, or in the coastal plain at lowlands.
