What is it about?
We evaluated palatal bone thickness (PBT) in 40 individuals with Down's syndrome in order to identify the best areas for miniscrew placement. The greatest PBT values were observed in the area of the median palatal suture.

Why is it important?
In Down´s Syndrome individuals, the most suitable area for miniscrew placement in terms of bone volume is the median palatal suture, irrespective of age or sex, as occurs in the general population, followed by the paramedian sites closest to the incisive foramen
