Why is it important?

The review highlighted distinct challenges that exist in terms of mental health service provision. These included accessing appropriate services and treatments, responsiveness of practitioner’s, the provision of family supports and potential mental health service developments.

Perspectives

Mental health policy makers and providers are keen to develop and deliver modern, responsive and accessible services that are rights-based and tailored to the needs of people who use their services. It is hoped that this review may help relevant organizations fully consider the types of services that they provide to this community.
