What is it about?
In this work, carbon quantum dots (CQDs) were used as conductive nano-scaffolds for the growth of hematite on Ti substrate to improve the photoresponsivity of hematite-based photoanode.

Why is it important?
In this work, we proposed the "nanostructuring" to overcome the main drawback of hematite as a photoactive semiconductor i.e. the short hole-diffusion length.
