What is it about?
Monoaxial tracking systems are discussed with attention to vertical axis tracking (VAT) and horizontal axis tracking (HAT). Their implementation on floating photovoltaic (FPV) plants is discussed. The VAT systems are described, and systems with confinement and without confinement are analyzed. Realization of these systems is shown with data about their efficiency in energy harvesting. The possibility of realizing large plants is analyzed and a simple system FPV with HAT and reflectors is suggested.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that the cost-effectiveness of floating photovoltaic (FPV) plants can be obtained over shorter time periods. Thus, the need for a suitable surface to install photovoltaic systems can be further reduced given the rated power of the FPVs.
