What is it about?

This article is based on the results of the first original and largest national-level online survey conducted with the participation of more than 3700 respondents in Sri Lanka. The results of the survey revealed that quarantine measures to restrict the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic have increased physical inactivity and sedentary habits among Sri Lankans.

Why is it important?

As Sri Lanka has now reached the peak of the COVID-19 epidemic, we highly believe that the results of this manuscript will be important in the current situation. This article will discuss the current situation, associated problems as well as suggestions to improve the physical activity level among the population during the lockdown period.

Perspectives

I hope this article will open the eyes of Sri Lankans, as most of them are remaining very sedentary during the lockdown period without even engaging in any form of exercise and other physical activities. Hopefully, the COVID-19 pandemic will disappear someday, when things get back to normal you should be physically fit to enjoy your life even better than before.
