What is it about?
To improve optoelectronic features of polymeric carbon nitride such as light absorption range and reduce charge recombination; we attached an additional strong electron-withdrawing 2,3-diaminopyridine group into the carbon nitride network via thermal polymerization.

Why is it important?
Our findings exemplify that donor-acceptor type complexes can be used to enhance the separation of photoexcited charge carriers in polymeric carbon nitride photocatalyst. A high photoactivity can be realized for such donor-acceptor type carbon nitride photocatalysts.
