What is it about?
Pain is very diffuse, and is based on many pathogenetic mechanisms. Its treatment is mainly pharmacological. Considering its multifactorial origin, a successful treatment is based on the use of analgesics efficacious via different mechanisms of action. The article reports on 2 classes of analgesics: COX inhibitors and opioids, and on their combination.
