What is it about?

1. small gold clusters are a better heat generator in comparison with bigger gold nanoparticles. 2. Mercapto succinate coated gold cluster are very bio and hemocompatible. 3. 2 nm gold cluster could be applied for radiofrequency mediated thermal therapy

Why is it important?

Gold nanoparticles are not biodegradable and renal clearance is heavily depended on the size of the nanoparticles. Small biocompatible gold clusters not only could easily be prepared and heated under a radiofrequency electric field but also are cleared through the renal passage.
