Why is it important?

AT III is routine laboratory parameter, which can serve as additional biomarker of severe acute hepatitis B. Moreover, AT III can be supplemented and it can be use as adjunctive therapy together with antiviral agents.

Perspectives

To publish these results was important given the size of the cohort and suggested use of routine coagulation parameters. However, to publish the data was not easy based on the retrospective design of the study.
