What is it about?
We asked Anesthetist trainees and clinicians to tell us what they thought about the mini-CEX. Was it a useful assessment tool? To what extent did they find it valuable? How well was it understood and embedded in their programmes? This paper reports of their views and experiences of the tool.

Why is it important?
If people do not value a tool they are unlikely to use it properly or adequately. Its important that we understand how the tool is being used on the ground and what its limitations are so that we can make informed decisions about future training and assessment.
