What is it about?
Ultraviolet radiation is something the organism is most frequently exposed to. It has the potential to cause phototoxic reactions, the development of dermatological conditions, and premature ageing of the skin. The study revealed some pretty significant changes in the volume of the epidermis, dermal vascular volume, dermis volume, and the number of mast cells in the dorsal skin of rats exposed to ultraviolet A-B.

Why is it important?
It's also been seen that CUR and ALA can help to reduce the thickness of the epidermis, the number of mast cells, the volume density of dermal vessels, the number of TUNEL-positive cells, and neutralise free radicals in the environment thanks to their antioxidant properties. This study is the first to look at how ALA and CUR protect rat dermal tissue against UVAB radiation using stereological methodologies.
