What is it about?
This study evaluates the feasibility of implementing a combined home-based and in-hospital exercise program for older hemodialysis (HD) patients. This study consisted of an individualized exercise program performed at the hospital and at home, which included aerobics, flexibility, strength exercises as well as patient education, in order to assess its effects on physical performance and quality of life.

Why is it important?
Through this study, we found that this type of exercise program and the outcome measures were feasible for older HD patients. Our findings showed that in-hospital participation was high, physical performance and quality of life showed moderate levels of responsiveness.
