What is it about?

A study was conducted to explore adolescent well-being as a function of family climate versus family structure. The findings suggest that, where adolescent well-being is concerned what goes on in the family (family climate, family process) matters more than who's in the family (family structure).

Why is it important?

The results of this study imply that the ‘‘two parents are better than one’’ argument has been overstated.

Perspectives

What I hope that people take away from this article is that what goes on in the family matters more and has greater effects than who makes up the family.
