Characterization of zinc amino acid complexes for zinc delivery in vitro using Caco-2 cells and enterocytes from hiPSC

What is it about?

We have evaluated different zinc supplements using human induced pluripotent stem cells from a patient with genetic inability for zinc uptake via "normal" uptake processes. We could show that the novel compounds called zinc amino acids (ZnAAs) are able to deliver zinc effectively via alternative routes.
